Birbal And The Foolish Guards

Akbar was hosting a 10 day event in his kingdom. The event would take place in the court. He sent out a guard to tell every one the news. The guard did as he was told. He reached the village and started “attention everyone. The king has decided to host a 10 day event. the event will take place in the court. anyone who pleases the king with his or her talent will get rewarded handsomely. Anyone and everyone can enter.The event will start from tomorrow be prepared.”saying so the guard left the village. Every one was excited and practiced. Five days went by but there was a problem the guards were bribing people for money to let them in. One day a poor man came to palace and asked the guards to let him in the guards were bribing him and asking him for 10 gold coins to enter the palace the man “said i have no money.I am here to present my poetry and hopefully impress the king” and the guards replied “okay then 50% of your reward will be ours. If you promise this you can enter”the man agreed and entered but there were 2 more guards who wanted another 50% of his reward the man agreed and passed. The king was in a good mood and liked the poetry and asked the man “i really liked your poetry. Ask me whatever you want as your reward.”The man said “your majesty i would like 200 slaps in the face as my reward and as i promised the guards i would give them 2 of them 50% and the other 50% to the other 2 guards they may have it first your majesty before me’ the king did as the man asked and gave every guard 50 slaps in the face and after that the man finely revealed to the court that he was actually Birbal and Birbal saved the day again. Akbar rewarded Birbal with 10,000 gold coins for his good deed.
