The Unicorn friend

Long ago there was a girl named Bhoomi. She loved reading books about fairy tales, Unicorns and many more. One day she was reading a book she read about a farmer who had a Unicorn that never died. He took very good care of that Unicorn and kept it in a secret garden before he died. To Bhoomi’s surprise there was a map in the book. She studied the map carefully. It revealed a location marked with a Unicorn shaped sign. She took the map and eventually reached the location. Hidden behind the bushes, she found a locked golden door. She tried to open the door but it wouldn’t budge. While she tried to clear the creepers on the wall around it, a brick caved in and suddenly the door started to open. The door opened to a beautiful garden and there was a big castle nearby. Inside the castle there was a stable. As she entered the stable, there was a glowing flash of light. She saw a strange looking horse. Once she went near by, she found out that it was not a horse but a silky golden Unicorn. She patted the Unicorn gently with love and returned home. From then on, she started to go there every day with carrots and fed the Unicorn. She always felt the Unicorn was lonely. The Unicorn was so pleased with the girl that one day it started talking and said “Bhoomi, I can grant you a wish — ask me anything you want”. Startled by this Bhoomi said , “I know you are lonely, I will give you a companion by wishing for another Unicorn, that is my wish”. Immediately, there was a big flash of light in the stable. Right after that she saw no Unicorn but a fairy. The fairy said “I had been cursed by a witch that made me an Unicorn. The curse would only be broken if someone took care of me and wished something for me. You too could have wished for anything, but you are so kindhearted. You chose to make a wish for me. Thank you so much. I will be there for you whenever you are in need, just close your eyes and think of me. I shall appear and help you”. Saying so the fairy disappeared. Bhoomi returned home after a noble deed and lived happily ever after.
